Job Description:

Position Summary:

HeliService USA is looking for an accomplished, forward-thinking aviator to manage and oversee our Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) program based in Dayton, Ohio. You’ll fly and manage a fleet of brand-new Leonardo AW169s, work closely with hospital leadership, while driving operational excellence. As Program Lead, you’ll ensure safe and compliant daily operations—all while leading a skilled team in a mission that truly saves lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily oversight of HAA operations, including aircraft scheduling, crew coordination and scheduling, and logistical support.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 135), state EMS requirements, and company policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between flight crews, medical teams, communications center, and hospital leadership.
  • Participate in and support the Safety Management System (SMS), including risk assessments and safety reporting.
  • Lead and support operational audits, training initiatives, and quality improvement programs.
  • Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and continued evaluation of flight personnel.
  • Support budget planning, equipment procurement, and operational readiness of assigned base(s).

Benefits:

This position is eligible for company benefits and 401(K) retirement enrollment after the standard waiting period. Paid time off (PTO) is awarded on an accrual basis. For a 7/7 schedule, it's 10 days per calendar year.

Job Requirements:

 Qualifications:

Licenses and Certifications (Preferred):

  • FAA Commercial or ATP Rotorcraft-Helicopter Certificate (preferred)(if pilot-qualified)
  • FAA First Class Medical (if pilot-qualified)
  • NVG and SPIFR experience (if pilot-qualified)
  • EMS operations training or management certification (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Leonardo AW169 platform (preferred)

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years in HAA or EMS aviation operations
  • Experience in aviation or medical program leadership roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 and HAA regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills

Training/Specific Activities Required:

  • Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.
  • Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on policies, procedures, and developments as well as to meet all company compliance standards. 
  • Employment at HeliService USA is contingent on successful completion of training and release to the line by the Director of Operations or Chief Pilot at the completion of the required line training period.
  • Pre-employment drug screening must be completed and approved in accordance with DOT/FAA regulations prior to hire.

Possible Work Hazards: Exposure to loud noises, aviation related chemicals, and frequently moving objects at a high velocity. 

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling, keyboarding, speaking. Additional physical demands may be required.
