Job Title: Security Officer

Job Description

This role provides on-site security coverage for four adjacent buildings in the North Cargo area of SeaTac Airport. The Security Officer monitors camera feeds, conducts interior and exterior patrols, follows established rotation checklists, and documents observations at the end of each shift. The position is unarmed and focuses on observation, reporting, and presence rather than physical intervention.

Responsibilities

• Report to the main office located on the second floor of Building A at the start of each shift.
• Review and follow daily and weekly rotation checklists to ensure all required patrols and inspections are completed.
• Monitor security camera feeds to observe activity across four nearby buildings.
• Conduct regular rounds by walking interior hallways and exterior perimeters of the buildings within walking distance.
• Use a motorized cart when needed to move supplies or support security-related tasks between buildings.
• Observe and document any unusual activity, safety concerns, or potential security issues during rounds.
• Communicate promptly with the local Operations Manager and Port of Seattle police for any incidents that require escalation.
• Avoid direct intervention in security incidents and instead focus on observation, documentation, and notification.
• Complete a concise shift report at the end of each day summarizing activities, observations, and any issues encountered.
• Interact periodically with tenants during rounds to confirm that common areas and building exteriors remain secure.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of security guard or closely related security experience preferred.
• Experience monitoring facilities, conducting rounds, and completing security reports.
• Ability to follow structured rotation checklists and established security procedures.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs to access the main office on the second floor.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift while conducting rounds.
• Comfort working independently, often with minimal direct supervision.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail when monitoring cameras and facilities.
• Clear written communication skills to complete accurate shift summaries and incident notes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience working in an airport, industrial, or warehouse environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with basic security systems and camera monitoring equipment is an advantage.
• Comfort working overnight shifts and maintaining alertness during late-night hours.
• Ability to build professional rapport with tenants while maintaining appropriate security boundaries.
• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability in adhering to schedules and security protocols.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office on the second floor of Building A within a group of transiplex buildings in the North Cargo area of SeaTac Airport. The surroundings are industrial and operational in nature, with nearby offices, warehouses, repair shops, and freight desks. Security rounds cover both the exteriors of buildings and interior hallways, all within walking distance, with a motorized cart available for moving supplies when needed. Parking is available on-site. The role involves working the overnight shift from Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, with most of the time spent standing and walking rather than sitting at a desk. There is very limited interaction with the general public, and most contact is with building tenants encountered during rounds. The environment is functional and industrial rather than a traditional office with extensive amenities or large, modern common areas.

This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA.

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $47840.00/yr.
