ASO is hiring a Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector to support the EAGLE LSS contract in Fort Hood, TX.

• The Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.

• Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

• This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

• 5+ years tactical or commercial equipment maintenance experience.

• Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

• Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation result.

• Ability to bring and use own tools.

• High School Diploma / GED.

• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Desired Qualifications:

• ASE Certification.

• CDL Preferred.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.

Pay and Benefits:

• Hourly compensation: $22.90.
