The Facilities Business Systems Architect is responsible for designing and evolving the digital systems, data structures, and automation frameworks that support Facilities Development, Operations, and Physical Security. The role focuses on architecting scalable operational systems that connect project execution, financial planning, asset management, and portfolio reporting into a unified data environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain business systems that support facilities projects, operations, vendors, and reporting.
- Build and refine workflows, dashboards, automation logic, and reporting environments primarily within Smartsheet and connected tools.
- Help establish clear data structures and standards so information is consistent and reliable.
- Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with automated workflows and structured data environments.
- Create reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide leadership with clear operational and financial visibility.
- Explore and pilot new tools (including AI-enabled features) that can improve planning, analysis, and decision-making.
- Partner with Facilities leadership, Finance, Operations, and IT to translate operational requirements into scalable system solutions.
- Help connect Facilities systems with enterprise tools when needed.
- Act as a go-to resource for how Facilities systems are designed and used.
- Maintain clear documentation, standards, and best practices.
- Train and support users so systems are easy to adopt and use effectively.
- Continuously improve systems based on feedback and evolving needs.
Required
- 5+ years designing or managing business systems, workflow automation platforms, or operational data environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Smartsheet or similar workflow / project management platforms.
- Comfort designing structured workflows, operational reports, and dashboards, data modeling, system architecture.
- Ability to listen to business needs and turn them into practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Desired
• Smartsheet certification or deep platform expertise.• Experience with automation or integration tools (Power Automate, Zapier, Make, APIs, etc.).• Exposure to AI-assisted tools, analytics, or forecasting.• Experience supporting Facilities, Operations, or capital project environments.
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $129,500 - $175,000/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
