About the role
L3Harris in Eight Mile Plains is The Centre of Excellence for Electronic Warfare and is home to world-leading design, manufacture and integration expertise and the sustainment of high-reliability electronic warfare components. Our highly skilled workforce design and develop Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities such as the next-generation space, airborne and cyber capabilities for the Australian warfighter.
We are currently seeking a IT Security Lead who will lead and coordinate Official Sensitive (O:S) accreditation activities across L3Harris’ Australian business units, ensuring compliance with Defence frameworks including Essential Eight, ISM, DISP, and DSPF. You will drive Essential Eight uplift, maintain accreditation documentation, and ensure audit readiness across classified and unclassified environments.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
Lead O:S accreditation and Defence compliance (ISM, DSPF, DISP, Essential Eight)
Drive Essential Eight uplift and manage reporting
Act as key liaison with Defence and security assessors (IRAP, CIOG)
Manage accreditation artefacts (SSPs, POA&Ms) and audit readiness
Oversee GRC, risk assessments and compliance across entities
Support classified environments and security controls
Lead incident response support, Industrial Security and investigations
Provide SME advice and drive continuous security improvement
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or equivalent experience (ideally supporting classified or secure network environments)
- Essential Eight Framework
- Australian Government ISM
- DISP requirements
- O:S and classified environment accreditation
- Experience working within Defence or Defence Industry environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading accreditation activities (e.g. IRAP assessments, SSP development)
- Willingness to continually learn and adapt to evolving Defence and cyber security requirement
Desirable Qualifications
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- IRAP Assessor (or working towards completion)
- CISA – Certified Information Systems Audit Assessor
