Become a part of the Landing Gear Operations Integration Team (1YLI); a diverse and dynamic team, shaping the future of Business Operations.
Working alongside our engineering community, together we deliver operational management solutions for project & performance management, resource management and people development to enable the Landing Gear engineering domain (1YL) to deliver commitments across all Airbus Commercial Programmes, as part of the Systems Centre of Competence (1Y).
As the Landing Gear Subcontract Manager, you will develop our engineering service supplier landscape; steering supplier selection, developing the relationships and driving performance in our suppliers and in the ways in which we engage with them in full compliance with company policies and strategy.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic team members who have an analytical mind and a predilection for improvement.
Activities:
Establishing the 1YL annual and multi-year subcontracting plan and anticipating the feasibility of engineering services suppliers, Airbus extended make and other organisations to meet the capacity and capability needs for the future.
Demonstrating control of our outsourcing through:
Delivery of the Landing Gear subcontracting plan, providing assurance and analysis of it through the year to internal customers.
Assuring adherence to strategic / tactical initiatives including 1YL make or buy policy and the Landing Gear subcontract management processes.
Deploying supplier performance monitoring and tracking of resulting actions through 1YL and procurement governance reviews.
Developing subcontract management processes that enable the delivery of engineering services supplier solutions that meet the needs of 1YL internal business customers, ensuring a continuous improvement approach to our ways of working.
Ensuring supplier onboarding and offboarding processes are managed by engineering services suppliers in accordance with company pocesses.
Leading 1YL participation in subcontract related company initiatives or forums, as requested by engineering or procurement functions.
Participating in 1YL Operational Excellence initiatives / continuous business improvement and supporting the wider Engineering Operations Integration team to develop a more efficient and effective 1YL.
Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures relating to ethics & compliance and export control regulations, escalating potential issues as part of the Airbus speak up initiative.
Providing guidance, training and mentoring to our engineering community on our subcontracting ways of working, tools, responsibilities as well as providing them an avenue to escalate issues or concerns.
Key interfaces will include: 1YL Leadership team, 1YL Heads of Group / Task Leaders, Landing Gear Operations Integration Team, Financial Controlling, 1Y Subcontracting network, Procurement, Other Airbus Groups / Divisions and Engineering Service Suppliers.

Experience in Subcontract management, Procurement, Contract Management, Business Management and/or Finance would be an advantage but not essential.
