About the role
Qatar Airways is pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations – Navigation Services Air Traffic Operations team as an Air Navigation Charges (ANC) Manager to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As an ANC Manager, you will lead Air Navigation Charges (ANC) Team, including Budgeting, Control, Reporting and Forecasting of ANC. Analyze ANC charges to identify where cost savings and/or avoidance can be achieved. The role also represents the function related to ANC at regional and international industry groups such as IATA, ICAO and other agencies to ensure the interests of Qatar Airways are considered.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
- Act as a strategic financial counterpart to ANSPs and other stakeholders in capital investment
negotiations, influencing infrastructure planning and cost allocation to optimize long-term ANC exposure - Engage with Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and through Government/Industry Consultation in
order to lobby for transparent and justifiable ANC leading to cost avoidance and savings to the company. - Deliver budgeting, control, reporting and forecasting of ANC to Flight Operations Management
based on the approved Business Operational Plan (BOP) - Lead the ANC team to ensure timely payment of all ANC invoices to ensure continued availability of
airspace. - Ensure robust process of ANC invoices verification against flight operations data using available tools and best practices to identify any errors or discrepancies
- Support production of reports such as ANC Budget Variance, Route Performance, Airspace Utilization,
ANC Monthly forecast, and Invoice schedule to senior management on a monthly and ad-hoc basis to
allow regular tracking of budget against spend and identification of cost trends - Monitor key financial KPIs (e.g., cost per flight, charge variance by route) and provide financial inputs to
infrastructure investment cases, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational priorities - Develop and implement ANC initiatives in coordination with the Qatar Airways internal stakeholders including but not limited to variable aircraft certified take-off weights, negotiating discounts on ANC, and revised charging schemes, to improve performance of the ANC budget and processes.
- Partner with Finance on month-end closing, charge accruals, and forecasting accuracy; conduct scenario
modeling and sensitivity analysis to assess cost impacts of traffic, rate, and route changes. - Lead and manage projects related to ANC ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Facilitate workshops and meetings to discuss ANC findings and recommendations with both internal and external stakeholders.
