Schedule:

• 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday

Position Summary:

• This position is for an Aircraft Structures Technician in Bloomfield, CT.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assesses maintenance/repair requirements for airframe components and assemblies using technical manuals, service bulletins, and other approved data.
• Provides technical information to engineers for the development of repairs outside of approved data scope when required.
• Performs approved repair operations to structures including sheet metal and other structures.
• Overhauls mechanical assemblies including repairs and part replacements.
• Documents maintenance/repair actions per company and FAA requirements.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience with aircraft structures.
• Mentoring or a prior lead role is a plus.
• Must own and be skilled in the use of structures and hand tools related to the responsibilities described above.
• Must be well versed in the use of production and repair-related prints/drawings.
• Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Working knowledge of FAA regulations, their interpretation, and application.
• Intermediate level computer skills including basic use of MS Outlook (or other e-mail application), Word, and Excel preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical subject matter both orally and in writing.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• FAA Airframe certification would be a plus

• Have you done fabrication from raw sheet ? If so, what tools have you used? (Sheer, Roller, Bend Break, Drill Press, Band Saw, Belt Sander)
• What sheet metal air tools have you used? (Drills, Rivet Guns, Die Grinders)
• What sheet metal hand tools have you used? (files, pliers, 6” and 12” scales, dividers, scribes)
• What fasteners have you worked with? (Solid rivets, Hi-Loks, Cherry Max blind rivets, Cherry Locks, Jo-Bolts, Composi-Lock, Visu-Lock, Hi-Lok)
• What do your aviation related tools weigh? (estimate).
