Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic with experience in sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and aircraft structures. Your primary role will involve working on Bombardier corporate aircraft, handling repairs from inspection through completion, and collaborating with engineers for the development of repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform sheet metal fabrication and riveting.
- Assemble and disassemble aircraft structures.
- Handle inspection, evaluation, and maintenance/repair requirements for airframe components using technical manuals and service bulletins.
- Provide technical information to engineers for developing repairs outside of approved data scope.
- Execute approved repair operations to structures including sheet metal.
- Overhaul mechanical assemblies, perform repairs and part replacements.
- Document maintenance/repair actions per company and FAA requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 2 years experience in sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and working on aircraft structures.
- Proficiency in the use of structures and hand tools.
- Experience with production and repair-related prints/drawings.
- Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations.
- Intermediate computer skills, including basic use of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Mentoring or prior lead role experience is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical subject matter both orally and in writing.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- FAA Airframe certification is a plus.

Work Environment
Work in a family-owned shop with around 35 employees. The owner is actively involved in day-to-day operations. Choose between First Shift from 7am to 3:30pm or Second Shift with 4-day workweeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomfield, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.
