What you can expect as an NDT Technician at West Star:
This position requires the willingness to successfully learn and implement the job skills and technology associated with Non-Destructive Testing. Technician level is determined by experience, training and certifications achieved per NAS 410. The job requires the technician be willing to work the days and hours necessary to complete any given task. Working nights and weekends may be required frequently. A willingness to work safely around x-radiation is required. A basic knowledge of aircraft and specifically aircraft structures is desired. Job duties will vary each day and will be designated by the NDT Supervisor or their designee.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
Perform, under supervision, the required tasks associated with NDT. This will include parts disassembly, cleaning, preparation, testing and post cleaning.
Achieve and maintain certifications of NDT level I, NDT Level 2, or level 3 per NAS 410 and West Star Aviation’s written practice. Will be required to re-certify on a periodic basis in order to maintain job status.
Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent
Airframe and Powerplant License preferred
A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
At least the minimum amount of experience required by NAS 410. All experience must be properly documented.

Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Must work to the requirements of any specification designated for each NDT Method.
Must have unquestioned integrity.
Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
Maintain customer oriented work habits.
