Position Summary
Job Summary:
The Material Handler I supports the foundational operations of the department through accurate work order kitting, inventory handling, and basic receiving and shipping tasks. Working under supervision, this role ensures timely movement and organization of materials while learning standard processes and building versatility across all warehouse functions.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Kit parts and components for assembly and various other departments based on first-in-first-out (FIFO) priority.
- Accurately pull inventory stock items based on number, size, quantity, and quality requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of kitted work orders to assembly and stock materials in designated areas to meet production needs.
- Keep record of completed work orders.
- Track and oversee stock replenishment of components and raw material.
- Perform basic labeling, packaging, and internal transfers.
- Operate counting scales and use basic measurement tools.
- Perform basic receiving tasks such as counting incoming parts, verifying quantities, and logging under supervision.
- Assist with packaging of finished goods and processing basic domestic shipments under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace utilizing 5S Lean methodology.

- Must adhere to proper materials handling procedures using personal protective equipment which will include, but is not limited to, protective eye wear, gloves, and hair/beard nets.
- Must maintain a high level of health and safety standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for long periods of time, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
Other Requirements:
- May occasionally work in and out of a clean room environment.
- May require overtime hours on weekdays or weekends, when applicable and planned for.
- Requires team members to be flexible in cross-training and developing skills to assist in all areas of the department.
