Bushing Machinist

Due to increased workload and an expansion to our current Production team, we are seeking a Bushing Machinist to join our MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) site in Gloucester. Youll work with the latest equipment and gain valuable experience in aircraft production.

What will I be doing?
•tSet up and secure cutting tools on various manual centre lathes and machine bushings of various materials to required sizes
•tUse a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipment
•tRead component maintenance manuals (CMMs), complex drawings and engineering layout information, in order to determine methods and sequences of operations, needed to complete repairs of parts within specified dimensions and tolerances
•tTo fit bushings into aircraft parts using various fitting techniques in accordance with CMMs, WPs and Process control specifications
•tAbility to be able to work as part of a team and be able to work alone effectively
•tActively participate in Daily problem solving and continuous improvements events.

Job Requirements:

What do I need to succeed in the role?

•\tAn Engineering Apprenticeship or similar ideally gained in the aerospace or the automotive sector is preferred, but not essential
•\tCandidates would ideally have experience in conventional Lathe Turning and Honing
•\tExcellent communication skills
•\tGood computer skills
•\tGood mathematical skills
•\tTeam working ethics
•\tSelf-managing and reliable
•\tGood problem solving skills
•\tInvolvement in continuous improvement activities to reduce shop processing times and manufacturing hours
•\tYou will be required to work shift rotations comprising of Days, Lates, Nights and when required Weekends.
