About the role
As a Lead Finance Officer, your role will be to maintain accurate, complete, reliable accounting information of Qatar Airways complying with existing Qatar Airways Groups accounting policies and International Financial Reporting Standard.
Responsibilities
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidation process for the Qatar Airways Group.
Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS, including notes and disclosures.
Prepare and review standalone financial statements for individual entities within the group.
Review and reconcile intercompany balances and transactions.
Ensure proper elimination entries and resolution of mismatches during consolidation.
Provide guidance on complex IFRS matters including IFRS 10 (Consolidation), IFRS 15 (Revenue), IFRS 16 (Leases), and IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments).
Draft technical accounting memos and support audit queries.
Assist in accounting for new acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and changes in group structure.
Support purchase price allocation and goodwill calculations.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of consolidation.
Support internal and external audits by preparing working papers and responding to queries on time.
Provide insights and analysis on consolidated financial results.
Work closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Business Finance teams.
Assist in alignment and consistency in financial reporting across the group.

About you:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience
Knowledge of Oracle financials and advanced computer skills including MS Excel, Visio, MS Word.
Knowledge of IASs/ IFRSs and experience of applying the same within the organization
Knowledge of preparation of financial statements as per IAS/ IFRS.
Highly motivated, reliable and energetic person. Confident to achieve challenging tasks on time and with high degree of accuracy.
Preferred:
Accounting professional certification such as CA, ACCA, CPA are preferred.
Experience in Oracle EPM – FCCS system.
