Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.
What youll get to do:
Create, monitor, and analyze QMS metrics using tools such as Excel, Minitab, Tableau, and Power BI to identify trends, support root cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for organizing and preparing Continual Improvement data for monthly Division Preventive and Corrective Action Board (PCAB) meetings, compiling quality data, generating dashboards and PowerPoint reports, and tracking action item closure.
Develop and maintain a QMS CI performance dashboard in Power BI and Tableau to provide real-time visibility into KPIs, support AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance, and enhance data-driven decision-making across departments.
Lead teams with Corrective/Preventive action development, coordination, and successful implementation including verification of effectiveness.
Present to and coordinate with Customer counterparts (i.e. DCMA, USAF) and Program leadership.
Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements and processes are met.
Interface with executioners of QMS and AS9100 requirements, Corrective/Preventive Action Request Methodologies, Customer Engagement, QMS Internal & External Audit Programs.
Lead RCCA activities including root cause analysis (i.e. 5 Why, 8D, Ishikawa (Fishbone), FMEA, etc.)

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
8 years with Bachelor’s in Science degree; or 6 years with Master’s degree; or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company to meet business needs
3+ years Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and Continuous Improvement Methodology Experience
Experience in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Minitab, Power BI, Tableau and/or PowerPoint
Internal / External Customer Interface Experience
Experience in quality management systems to support program processes, audits, and/or improvements
Savings/resource reallocation based on black belt project management/execution
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional meetings and present technical data to diverse audiences
Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including AS9100
Familiarity with internal auditing practices and QMS metrics tracking
Working knowledge of statistical process control and process capability analysis
Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline
Must be able to conduct a DMAIC analysis on high-value projects.
Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
