What You Will Do

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Afterspanet team at North Berwick Repair Operations site. A seasoned team of 20+ Engineers and Technicians focuses on military and commercial hardware. This position involves excellent opportunity to interface directly with operators and machines. The site would provide exposure to OEM, Engineering Design, MODS center and the Afterspanet team.

  • Interpretation of approved technical data such as Engine and Standard Practices Manuals, for both military and commercial engines, which will flow down into process work instructions.

  • Develop, modify and maintain ASI’s (Afterspanet Services Instructions), which includes editing CAPP II & Solumina work instructions.

  • Review tool designs, span-up prints, issue request forms, track tool changes and corrections.

  • Perform the necessary process try-out tasks including set-ups, first piece runs, process development and gage correlations.

  • Support and assist in TAT reductions, On-Time Delivery and Sales & EBIT Goals.

  • Review Engineering Hold items on a daily basis and determine proper course of action.

  • Develop new equipment, process and troubleshoot problem operations

  • Will require off-shift and weekend coverage based on business needs.

What You Will Learn

  • How to interpret tech data/blue prints and relay the technical requirements into manufacturing work instructions.

  • Learn LEAN principles and continuous improvement tools and how to implement them for your product and processes.

  • Gain direct experience and expertise in engine part repair processes, techniques, and technologies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Advanced Degree and 1+ years of experience in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associates degree and 4+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • 1+ year of Engineering experience within a Manufacturing, Afterspanet or Aerospace environment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field; Engineering preferred

  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, FAA repairmen’s certificate, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to a repair station Quality requirements

  • Ability to interpret of ATA 100 technical manuals

  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred

  • Continuous Improvement experience such as LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma training

  • Experience working with MS Office, SAP ERP, Solumina G7 MES, NX or other CAD program.

  • Experience and knowledge of machining and assembly processes, including tool application.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and motivate teams to achieve business goals

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
