Network Field Service Engineer

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Network Field Service Engineer.

Work arrangement:

Onsite
W2 position, 6 months contract to hire
US Citizen; active Secret security clearance

Required experience:

Three (3) years of practical hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data networks, digital computers, microprocessors, cloud computing environments, and distributed data systems
Demonstrated experience in Radio Frequency (RF) solutions, network security, Quality of Service (QOS), and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) for current and future shipboard networking systems required
Must be able to troubleshoot network connectivity issues, repair hardware, and perform daily tasks such as status reports, asset tracking, and generating/resolving trouble tickets
Demonstrated experience with updating systems, including operating systems, networking and storage templates, server design, storage allocation, and virtualization
Must be able to stage, image, and deploy laptop and desktop machines, as well as migrating data
Demonstrated experience in developing network automation solutions and experience with new network technologies including voice, automation, and other network technologies
Two (2) years of combined experience in the management, administration, maintenance, and repair of UNIX/LINUX and Windows based computer networks, including:
- ISNS, CANES, ADNS, CENTRIXS, and/or SCI Navy systems (or equivalent type network)
- Windows based network management and administration
- Cisco routing and switching, and server and router configuration and management
- UNIX/LINUX based processing systems management
- Other networking tools, software, and appliances

Travel:

Requires travel/underway periods of up to 90 days at a time

Required education:

An Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics “C” school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school.
- Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system

Required certifications:

Security+ CE or Cisco Security
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent
Operating System certifications for:
- Configuring Windows 10 (70-697)
- Configuring Windows Server 2012 (70-410)
