Cyber Systems Engineer

Join a mission-critical team as a Cyber Security Systems Engineer / Linux System Administrator, responsible for maintaining and securing Linux-based environments, coordinating with network teams, and ensuring the availability and integrity of computing systems.

Responsibilities

Ensure reliable and secure operation of multi-user Linux systems supporting DoD environments.

• Configure and manage administrator and service accounts

• Maintain system documentation and implement performance tuning

• Install, update, and manage system-wide software

• Allocate and manage storage resources across systems

• Coordinate with network administrators to optimize performance

• Evaluate and recommend hardware/software solutions

• Coordinate installations and manage backup and recovery strategies

• Develop and enforce computing resource usage policies and standards

• Provide technical support and interface with users and stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)

• 2+ years of experience administering Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux – RHEL)

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)

• Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance

• U.S. Citizenship (required due to government security clearance requirements)

Desired Skills:

• Red Hat Satellite configuration and RHEL expertise

• Network administration experience (LAN/WAN, Cisco)

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMWare ESXi, vCenter)

• Cybersecurity concepts and network security fundamentals

• Scripting capabilities using Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.

• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware/software and infrastructure

• Experience with firmware upgrades and hardware maintenance

This position requires a government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
