ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The Network Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing systems operational efficiency. This SRE role will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Network infrastructure. This role will focus on deployment automation and system optimisation, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have good problem-solving skills and a strong desire to implement scalable and sustainable technological solutions. Part of the scope includes a close working interlock with development, operations, and IT teams to automate and optimise our systems, ensuring they are highly available, performing, and resilient
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Responsible for performing end-to-end lifecycle management of network infrastructure, including planning, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Ensure high availability and performance of Network infrastructure through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
- Support implementation and management of disaster recovery solutions and backup strategies.
- Automate routine tasks and create tools to improve team efficiency and system robustness.
- Document procedures, system configurations, and operational practices to ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
- Work closely with Network Operation teams participating in in thorough post-incident reviews, identifying root causes and collaboratively developing action plans leading to continuous improvements in network reliability and operational efficiency.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to ensure optimal utilization of Network resources.
- Ensure that Network environments adhere to security best practices and organizational compliance requirements.
- Oversee the Implementation of security patches and updates in a timely manner.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- 1-2 years of experience in Networking & Security fundamentals (Network Topologies, Routing Protocols, Switching concepts, Firewalls, Security Protocols, etc)
- 1-2 years of experience in managing and operating Network environments, including Palo Alto’s (using Panorama), CISCO and NSX.
- Knowledge of scripting & automation languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc
- Familiarity with Network Monitoring & Observability solutions.
- Familiarity with or understanding of DevOps culture and practices
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze systems logs and data
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Network certifications (e.g., Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCCSE), CISCO (CCCP/CCNA), NSX (VCP) are desirable.
- Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes for container management and deployment
- Experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines and use of Terraform.
