Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Associate Quality Engineer/ Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be located in Palmdale, CA where technology and teamwork come together.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans Mission Assurance organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.

Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

Associate Quality Engineer/Quality Engineer Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a STEM field and 0 years of experience

• Active DoD Secret clearance AND the ability to obtain Special Program Access

• Must be able to work any shift

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and Excel

Associate Quality Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to 3D modeling software (e.g. NX, AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc)

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Familiar with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or similar platform

• Experience in manufacturing or quality

Quality Engineer Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a STEM field and 2 years of professional related experience

• Active DoD Secret clearance AND the ability to obtain Special Program Access

• Must be able to work any shift

• Experience with Microsoft Office products and Excel

Quality Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g. NX, AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc)

• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Familiar with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or similar platform

• Experience in Manufacturing or Quality

• Experience in AS9102 Standard First Article Inspection (FAI)

Salary Range: $67,400.00 - $101,000.00Salary Range 2: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
