Job Title: Avionics TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to join our 787 Program in North Charleston, South Carolina. You will be responsible for working on in-flight entertainment for aircraft systems, utilizing both manual and automated tools.
Responsibilities
- Test and install avionics equipment and electrical systems.
- Inspect and troubleshoot communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on avionics systems.
- Fabricate and install wire harnesses and electrical components.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Support a conducive environment for successful installation of IFE/avionics and other aircraft electrical equipment.
- Serve as the primary product subject matter expert for IFE/avionics customer and site production contacts after initial product-focused training, with travel as needed to customer facilities both domestic and international.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers face-to-face, via email and chat functions, and via phone and/or conference calls.
- Perform support, installation, and configuration of IFE (in-flight entertainment)/avionic equipment/other electrical related tasks.
Essential Skills- Experience with wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings defining electrical systems.
- Technical/mechanical experience, such as A&P mechanic, automotive mechanic, or comparable experience.
- Ability to diagnose simple to complex systems with multiple power sources and break points.
- Building wire harnesses from scratch to match corresponding drawings.
- Disassembly, dismounting, and installation of electrical hardware including server racks, avionics boxes, sensors, main power panels, ECU/SPU/SEB/PCU units.
- Resistance testing on wires for continuity/breakage.
- Installation of pins and contacts onto wires, and installation of wires into plugs and subs.
- Full GD&T understanding, ability to read a drawing and pin-out.
- Understanding of FOD and its importance on an aircraft.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Minimum educational requirement: Associate’s Degree or equivalent job training.
- FCC Avionics certification or equivalent electrician certificate desired.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work experience demonstrating longevity and commitment.
- Reliability and ability to work independently or with a team in accordance with drawings and work instructions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Open availability for shifts and traveling.
- Aircraft interior experience is a plus.

Work Environment
On-site at Boeing with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM. Flexibility is required for shifts and availability on weekends when needed. The role involves significant physical activity, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing stairs, along with the use of various hand tools.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $44.00/hr.
