Mission and activities
We develop high fidelity Engineering and Training Simulations for a variety of aircrafts. Our flight simulators are operated by several international customers around the globe. At the heart, flight simulators are multi host distributed systems operating in real-time.
We are looking for an enthusiastic system administrator which ensures that our Training Simulators stay up and running and evolve with new project requirements.
It will be your task to:
- Perform server administration tasks, mainly on linux systems. It includes installing and commissioning new hardware, software updates, backup management, user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Monitor datacenter health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed.
- Implement new mechanisms for monitoring and analyzing data using tools such as Kibana/Grafana and Elasticsearch. Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize key performance indicators and generate actionable insights.
- Maintain internal infrastructure, including networking (routers, switches, firewalls, LANs, WANs), virtualization, servers and workstations.
- Automate as many tasks as possible (system installations, development services, patch distribution, system recovery tasks, etc)
- Assist our users with daily IT issues.
- Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
- Perform and support routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including interactions with the security team.
- Define and document the provided services, architecture, network layout, best practices and support procedures.
- Continuously improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
- Manage and coordinate other administrators who will collaborate with parts of the project.
- Collaborate with other teams and team members (including developers and DevOps) to create and improve automation strategies and deployment processes.
- Provide support with Continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) services.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (5 years min) in managing production Linux and Windows systems (SW and HW).
- IN depth knowledge of Linux: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Ubuntu Server, Debian, RedHat/CentOS.
- LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting).
- Solid knowledge of network protocols such as DNS, DHCP, SMTP and SNMP.
- Experience with Active Directory and LDAP user and group administration. FreeIPA would be a plus.
- Familiar with tools such us Elastic Search/InfluxDB, and visualizations using Kibana / Grafana.
- Experience managing/configuring virtual machine Hypervisors like OVirt, Proxmox but also other virtualization systems such as VMWare, KVM/QEMU, VirtualBox, Xen, Citrix, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Containers and Orchestration tools (docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience using and maintaining Software Version Control Systems (Git).
- Knowledge in shell script, Python, Ansible, for automating daily tasks. Terraform/Puppet/Chef or similar technologies will be a plus.
- Knowledge in CI/CD toolset (Jenkins, GitLab, Nexus, SonarQube or similar tools). Experience with Configuration as Code (CaC) paradigm and/or Infrastructure as Code would be a plus.
- Knowledge of security principles, best practices, and normative/regulation/standards relative to INFOSEC Directives.
- Ability to coordinate a group of administrators.

- Very good English written and spoken.
- Travel to Project integration sites or customer installations (mainly in Europe).
